Oreo cake

Making an Oreo cake is a delicious way to incorporate the iconic chocolate and cream flavor of Oreo cookies into a moist and flavorful dessert. Here's a simple recipe for an Oreo cake:

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cups buttermilk

For the Oreo Filling:

  • 2 cups crushed Oreo cookies (cream and cookie parts separated)

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Additional crushed Oreo cookies for decoration

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies (without the cream filling) into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pans and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • In a medium bowl, beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top and sprinkle some crushed Oreo cookies.
  • Place the second cake layer on top and frost the entire cake with the remaining frosting.
  • Decorate the top of the cake with additional crushed Oreo cookies.
    • Slice and serve your delicious Oreo cake.
